Become an ITC First Aid Trainer

If you wish to become a First Aid Instructor, deliver first aid training courses, set up a small business delivering first aid, offer first aid as part of your existing business or deliver fundable first aid training at your educational establishment you will find all of the information on this site. Below are some of the frequently asked questions that people have about becoming a first aid trainer.

How do I become a First Aid trainer?

A simple answer is to attend one of our two day Provider Induction Programmes and let us take you through everything required. When you attend one of our progammes you are in the hands of one of the leading organisations in the UK for supporting individuals and businesses delivering recognised first aid training to their own clients. Contact us for the dates and venue that interest you for an informal chat. They will make sure that everything is explained and related to your specific needs.

Why do I have to attend the two day course?

Only organisations are approved to deliver recognised first aid courses in the UK and this two day ITC Provider Induction Programme is a requirement of ITC. Organisations are approved by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) for the purpose of delivering First Aid at Work and given a HSE Approval number. Individuals belonging the HSE approved organisation can offer First Aid at Work or FAW Refresher courses. Organisations can become Awarding Bodies accredited by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority (QCA). Providers and Centres approved by the Awarding Body can offer courses from the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) such as Outdoor First Aid or Sports First Aid.

 Who are ITC?

ITC is the approved and accredited awarding body that accredits the two day Instructors Induction course programme found on this site. ITC are a growing company providing the credible recognition, and training support for individuals and businesses to deliver environment specific first aid training courses. ITC First Aid Ltd (ITC) is a QCA accredited Awarding Body and Immediate Temporary Care is the HSE approved 1670/96)) section of ITC.

 Why use ITC?

ITC has national credibility in more than one sector. It is one of a select few companies that have both QCA and HSE recognition status. Unlike many organisations supporting First Aid training organisations ITC do not directly deliver any First Aid training. Therefore all leads or enquiries generated by a national presence are passed on to Providers and Centres across the UK. Indeed the ITC website provides free advertising for all Providers and their training courses.

ITC has been supporting Providers and Centres since last century and offers a regular free programme of professional development events, quarterly newsletter, technical updates, a national network of trained supportive first aid trainers, local Senior Trainers for advice, office hours support and Trainers resource package. We believe it to be the best package of its type in the country.
